THE 8 × 12 SHED FOOTPRINT

A narrow footprint. A little more depth.

A 96-square-foot exterior footprint, adding two feet of depth over an 8 × 10. The final specification identifies actual internal dimensions, overall height, and the approved floor and roof systems.

Make the space work.

  • Group seasonal storage toward the back and frequently used tools near the entrance.
  • Measure bikes with handlebars, pedals, and any wall rack included.
  • Plan shelf depth before assuming there is a useful central aisle.

More depth increases potential storage, but the width and turning space remain eight feet externally. Interior clearances are smaller after the wall assembly.

One useful question

Is the extra depth useful for your longest stored item or does it create a hard-to-reach corner?

The optional Backlot front porch projects beyond the enclosed shed. Its final dimensions, foundations and setbacks are reviewed for your design and property. Compare the original 12×10 Backlot footprint for the founder’s confirmed reference dimensions.

Thinking beyond storage?

A full build adds a finished interior for an office, studio or personal space. Start with your desk or work surface, then leave room for the chair, door swing and a clear route through the room. Insulation and wall finishes reduce the usable interior dimensions from this exterior footprint. Base package prices include the standard foundation. The concrete foundation upgrade adds a flat $5,000 to the starting price, regardless of shed or porch area.

Starting prices are based on your selected package, area and foundation. Final specifications, site work, other upgrades and applicable taxes are confirmed in your written quote.

Porch rates apply to the enclosed exterior footprint plus the porch area. Examples include the Backlot’s 5′ × 3′ porch; it is optional and separate from the enclosed floor space.
